The following terms and conditions apply for the Shire of Broome Sports Awards 2020. By submitting an official entry into this competition, applicants warrant that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by them.

Nominations must be completed online on the official Shire of Broome Sports Award Nomination Form. A person can only be nominated in one category per club/association. The judging panel will make the final decisions and no other correspondence will be entered into.

Applications will be accepted on the following residential criteria:
a. The nominee will participate predominantly in sporting activities conducted within the Shire of Broome unless the sport does not allow the opportunity to compete within the region.
b. The nominee is a member of a club or association based in the Shire of Broome unless the sport does not allow the opportunity to compete as part of a club or association.
c. All nominations must be endorsed by the respective local sporting association or club.
3.The nominees shall be selected on their achievements, from 16 April 2019 through to 16 October 2020.
4. Nominations will only be accepted until 23 October 2020.
Sport Star of the Year will be awarded to a person aged 18 years and over who has achieved outstanding success in their sport. Voluntary contributions to their sport/s will also be taken into account by the judges.
Rising Sport Star of the Year will be awarded to the person aged between 13 -18 years of age who has achieved outstanding success in their sport. Voluntary contributions to their sport/s will also be taken into account by the judges.
Club of the Year Award will be awarded to the club or association that is operating in a professional manner, is innovative and provides a range of opportunities for its members to succeed.
Volunteer of the Year will be awarded to an individual who has contributed outstanding service to a Club or Association during the judging period.
Service to Sport will be awarded to an individual who has contributed outstanding service to a Club/Association in the Shire of Broome over an extended period.
Remote Community Award will be awarded to an individual or community organisation that is providing outstanding commitment to furthering sport and recreation initiatives in their community, or who has achieved outstanding sporting success in a Broome-based competition.
Coach and Official of the Year will be awarded to a coach and an official who have provided outstanding service in their field to a club or sport, and demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
Team of the Year is awarded to a sporting team based in the Shire of Broome who has achieved outstanding success within the nomination time frame.
